Why?

I'm going to get real for a minute here, but sit tight and let me explain myself.

To keep it simple, there was a time when I was quite the little chubster. I've always loved food. My first word (outside of that whole ma ma/da da thing) was bread. As a little kid, adults hid food from me. I was chubby. Huge, really. I grew out of it eventually. Literally.

Most of my life I just ate whatever I wanted, as much as I wanted. Then one year, I gained a lot of weight. Some would call it a freshman 15. Then I tried dieting. There were extremes. I was unhappy. Long story short, I've tried this and that and blah, blah, blah. What I've found is that I love food. And I'm not happy when I try and deny myself things.

This blog is about adult me embracing my inner fat kid in a healthy, but delicious way. It's about finding creative ways to enjoy food, without being a gluttonous little piggy. Or maybe sometimes being a gluttonous little piggy.

I like to keep things healthy, most of the time. Being healthy, to me, means appreciating food. It means balancing your diet. It means eating a little of everything, but mostly veggies. My goal is to learn to savor food, not to scarf it down. Whether we like it or not, we spend our lives eating. Most of us aren't very good at it. It's a skill that we all just need to work on. And that's what I'm doing here.

I like to be creative and I like to try new things. I like to cook (and eat), sorry if you don't. But if you do, please enjoy these recipes with me. Because I do make a right delicious fare if I say so myself!

Oh yea, and if anyone ever tries any of my recipes, PLEASE leave me a comment about it! I want reviews! I want feedback! Give me your OPINIONS!

Oh yea, and as for the blog title? I guess I gotta give credit where it's due:
